Blog Commenting For Backlinks – Automate Your Search Efforts
Commenting on blogs posts to get backlinks is hardly a new idea, and is a part of most people's backlink strategy. Let's face it though. Commenting on blogs gets time consuming, and most people would rather be spending the time on Facebook! Lol
And then the problem is compounded the more you keywords you try to rank for. Let's face it, there is software out there to automate just about anything you want to do online, but you could go broke trying to by it all. So let's see if we can simplify the whole thing and make it more manageable without enriching any of these guys having automation apps built in India.
You should be using Ryan Deiss' Authority Codes to do your Google searches to make sure you are getting the most valuable online properties to post your comments and backlinks on. These save a lot of time in and of themselves when you set out to find relevant blog posts. And if you install the Firefox plugin SEO Quake, you can instantly tell the PR of the webpage you will be commenting on. Even so, this while process becomes a huge time suck if you don't apply one or two more tactics to streamline your efforts.
First off, decide in advance how high of a PageRank you set your floor at. I know a lot of people won't go below a PR of 5 because they've seen the charts showing a relative value of one PR5 backlink to 555 backlinks on pages with PR of 0. I'll go down to a PR of 3 in my blog commenting efforts if it is a relevant site. Why not?! It takes nothing away from the PR5 and above backlinks I post so it may push me ahead of a site with an equal number of PR5 backlinks that ignored them.
Remember the following tips:
- Place your keyword in the Name field and you will get credit for it as your anchor text.
- Make a relevant comment with absolutely no backlink in it at all.
- Don't go through and pepper the whole site with similar comments.
- Don't be afraid to use an interior page as your URL in the Website field of the comment form.
Now let's make the search part of this much easier with some free Google automation. Set up Google Alerts for each of your keywords using the Authority Codes. I would set the interval of search at daily to begin with, and then adjust as you see the quality of what is returned. You can also then cull the number of the Authority Code strings you have set up as alerts to just the most productive ones or set the less productive strings to a longer interval between searches so you aren't wasting time on a handful of results.
You have to make the most of your time posting backlinks or you will end up spending days doing what should only take a few hours. Implementing these kinds of simple automation will eliminate these kinds of time wasters and get you back on Facebook as soon as possible! Lol
Here are the Authority Codes Ryan Deiss uses:
- ite:.com inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"youmust be logged in" "ADD YOUR KEYWORD"
- site:.org inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" "ADD YOUR KEYWORD"
- site:.edu inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" "ADD YOUR KEYWORD"
- site:.gov inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" "ADD YOUR KEYWORD"
- site:.com "powered by expressionengine" "ADD YOUR KEYWORD"
- site:.org "powered by expressionengine" "ADD YOUR KEYWORD"
- site:.edu "powered by expressionengine" "ADD YOUR KEYWORD"
- site:.gov "powered by expressionengine" "ADD YOUR KEYWORD"
- site:.com “Powered by BlogEngine.NET”site:.edu inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" "ADD YOUR KEYWORD"
- site:.org “Powered by BlogEngine.NET”site:.edu inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" "ADD YOUR KEYWORD"
- site:.edu “Powered by BlogEngine.NET”site:.edu inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" "ADD YOUR KEYWORD"
- site:.gov “Powered by BlogEngine.NET”site:.edu inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" "ADD YOUR KEYWORD"
The top four codes are designed to locate WordPress blogs that allow for commenting. The middle group is designed to find Expression Engine blogs, and the bottom group is designed to find BlogEngine blogs
Expression Engine and BlogEngine are both popular among academics and some government agencies for some reason, which is why we like to focus on those in additional to WordPress.
Since WordPress is the most common blogging platform, however, we’re usually able to get our 10 links without going beyond the first 4 “Authority Codes”.
There are a TON of backlink resources on my Squidoo Lens: How To Get Backlinks
Random Backlink Thoughts To End September
It's been a tumultuous time in the world of backlinks. Many are heralding the end of Angela and Paul's backlink packets. (Don't!) Similarly there are death knells being sounded for whole groups of communities as sources of backlinks across the web.
So what's a site owner to do?!
Mostly ignore the naysayers, and do the common sense things anyway...
The problems being touted as "The End" of various backlink sources is really just about people misunderstanding and misusing them. When you go into one of Angela's packets and see the instructions in her PDF, do you notice that each profile has her pic uploaded to her profile? This should be a clue that she isn't just signing up, posting her backlinks and running! Taking the time to fill in your profile a bit and look around will yield huge dividends! Not only are you less likely to have your account deleted, but you will notice other features of the community.
One of my favorite features on these is the ability to blog. Communities that allow you to make blog posts are one of the best reasons to keep both Paul and Angela's packets. You can and should use them as places to post your EZA articles, posts from your own blog, and unique content created on the fly. There are no minimum post sizes on any that I have come across, and none of the formatting, linking or top level domain issues you will face elsewhere.
I know, I know...
"But my articles are on a different niche than the site."
I have posted articles on vastly different topics than that of the community, and without exception the articles and posts stayed. Communities are starved for contributing members, so if you are posting content then you will likely be very welcome indeed!
You have probably also heard people complaining that Ning communities have disabled backlinking ability in many areas of their profile pages, so there isn't any point in using them any more. These people are ignoring two very important things:
1. Blog Posting - See above, Lol! Blog away and be sure to post your articles as well.
2. Start Your Own Community - This is probably the easiest place on the internet to start your own full function community. Or several full function online communities for that matter. And you get to pick the topic, so relevance is a non issue...
Squidoo is still being torn apart by naysayers on the forums due to their (still relatively) new rules. Hey, Google is still in love with them and there remain huge ways to circumvent the problems with the new rules if you just take the time to learn about them. I'm not going to go into them in depth here when you can get all the info you need from this free report:
I know I get great traffic and rankings from even one of my brand new lenses titled How To Get Backlinks. I really didn't need to change much of anything putting this together to accommodate the new rules, and it has performed like a champ...
Regular readers have probably noticed that I have opened up the blog posts here to other authors. I did this for a number of reasons, but mostly to get some fresh perspectives on backlinking here. You can get your own articles posted here via the Free Traffic System. You will be able to publish each of your articles to thirty different websites at no charge whatsoever. You do need to spin the content with their system, but there are easy to follow video tutorials showing you how to do it almost as easily as using the software they recommend. I do it myself without any software and can generally spin my article manually in about ten minutes.Try it out, it's free, and each article can have two backlinks so that means a total of sixty backlinks per article.
None of the info here will do you a bit of good if you don't get out there and do something. Make it your goal to implement at least one backlinking strategy every day. Before you know it, your SEO results will be shooting you onto the first page of the big G for a whole host of great keywords...
Backlink Your Blog With Blog Carnivals
More and more websites are being launched as blogs today, and more and more people are looking to backlinks to get their blogs noticed by the search engines and readers in general. Strangely, not many people are talking that much about one of the best sources of backlinks for blogs: Blog Carnivals.
A blog carnival at it's most basic is a blog that has invited any and all blogs on similar themes to publish on their own blog that the authors have already published on their own blogs. This is obviously a huge source of backlinks for every blogger out there willing to take the time to find the blog carnivals in their niche and then publish their relevant posts. This is mad much easier by a site dedicated to them named BlogCarnival.com
As lucrative in backlinking terms as blog carnivals can be, this is tedious work and people get tired of it after spending a day or so searching for relevant blog carnivals and then publishing their posts. Fortunately automation is available to simplify both of these tasks. Pretty cheap too. At heart it is just a set of Macros for performing repetitive tasks. You could easily get a freelance coder to build you an application of your own for as little as $100 on elance.com or RentACoder.com, but frankly why not buy one of the excellent ones already available like Blog Carnival Submitter or XingLa Pro Blog Carnival Submitter.
Blog Carnival Submitter is a great low cost option and will do a great job for you:
XingLa Pro Blog Carnival Submitter has a few more features, and runs a bit faster, but is more expensive too.
Personally I don't see that much difference between them and while I like the faster run time, Either of these products will automate your blog carnival submission jobs very adequately. Still, even using an autosubmitter takes time that you may not have.
Check out our Blog Backlink Bonanza Offer. It offers a lot more than just Blog Carnival submission...

Backlink Automation
Whatever area of internet marketing you look at today you find ways to automate tasks that rob you of precious time. Much of the time the cost is prohibitive, and we are forced to keep right on doing the task by hand. Not always though.
Lately I have been looking at several different ways to automate my backlink building as it can be the most time consuming thing on my schedule. There are more and more ways to approach this, and I am glad to say that not all of them are all that expensive.
I came across one such software title that is making quite a difference in my schedule as well as my SEO results. It's called Blog Carnival Submitter and does exactly what the name says: submits your blog posts (or articles) to blog carnivals. Here is a short video on it.
Carnival Blog Submitter - Instant Download
The possibilities with this are not endless but pretty impressive nonetheless. You can successfully get deep and one way links to your blog posts. Get it and play with it for a while and you will see just how easy it is to build backlinks with this great software. Comes with easy to understand text instructions as well as a short 5 minute video that very clearly shows how to use Blog Carnival Submitter.
SEO – Search Engine Optimization Vs PPC – PayPerClick Marketing
SEO - Search Engine Optimization Vs PPC - PayPerClick Marketing
SEO - Search Engine Optimization Vs PPC - PayPerClick Marketing
By Jim Patterson
Every webmaster on the internet is looking for the same thing. An unending stream of targeted visitors looking at their sites, reading their content and considering their offers or those of their advertisers.
When you think about large sources of website visitors you usually end up considering one of two methods of traffic generation:
1. SEO or Search Engine Optimization
2. PPC or PayPerClick Marketing
Each of these is a source of almost limitless traffic. Each of them also have their own pros and cons. Which of these you initially, or primarily pursue will depend on how you view certain aspects of each of them.
Time To Setup - Here PPC Marketing would seem to have the upper hand. It takes a lot longer for SEO efforts to turn into visitors than it does for a well executed PayPerClick campaign. On the other hand, it really should only take ten days to two weeks to get some results from the search engines. Many will tell you that SEO takes months to implement successfully. Not so...
Cost - If you do the SEO work yourself then your only cost is your time, and it can take hours and days of your time to implement good SEO strategies. If you hire someone to do your SEO work for you, then you will have a chunk of expense right up front. Some firms charge thousands to just get started. You can get good starter packages for less than two hundred dollars with good guarantees. PPC costs on the other hand are constant and ongoing as long as your campaigns run. It can take relatively little to get going, but the tally continues to run as long as the traffic flows.
Research - Here you are looking at roughly equivalent efforts. SEO and PPC are both keyword driven, so you will need to either spend the time to find high volume keywords relevant to your site, or pay someone else to do it for you. Of course, in PPC Marketing good keywords come at a higher cost, while in SEO work it will just take more effort to rank well for a highly competitive keyword or phrase.
Maintenance - Here SEO has a distinct advantage. PPC campaigns need constant attention as you tweak your headlines and ad bodies. Search Engine Optimization will generally be hands free once you do your initial work for a keyword. True, you may need to post more backlinks for a keyword on a monthly basis to stay ahead of your competitors but that is all.
Both of these methods can supply your sites with enormous amounts of traffic. While you don't really have to choose between SEO and PPC, most people will gravitate towards one of the two as their primary source of traffic over time depending on the above criteria.
Consider each strategy that you decide on carefully and you will have all the traffic you could want.

High PR Backlinks Are SEO Magic
Recently I have enjoyed the kind of SEO success that you read about. The kind where people start writing ebooks feverishly in order to cash in before the next Google slap...
The kind where you start having visions of being able to retire to an island somewhere...
The fact of the matter is that the secret to amazing SEO success is no big secret at all. High PR Backlinks work every time. It's just a matter of finding enough of these and spending the time to post your links with your keywords or keyword phrases as anchor text like this:
<a href="http://yourdomain.com">Keyword Phrase Here</a>
The important thing is to make sure the links are posted in an area where they are Do Follow.
You will hear several myths about posting your backlinks that should be busted:
- The page you post the link to must have a High PageRank and not just the domain itself. If the sites homepage has a high PR, the SEO juice will pass to your site regardless of the PR of the page your link is on.
- You can't rank for keywords that your site doesn't have sufficient density for. Not true. If this were true, you wouldn't see any YouTube videos ranking for their tags. Just post enough of your links with anchor text and you will rank!
- Your backlinks must come from relevant sites or they are worthless. Google knows that links occur randomly. It's enough that the links are coming from High PR sites. They know that people have varied interests, so they are just looking for volume. The benefit you get from site relevancy is that people seeing the links are more likely to click.
- Sites on the first page of Google all have thousands of inbound links and it will take you years to catch up. Some do have thousands of backlinks, but you don't have to compete with that. You are just competing with those having the exact same keyword or keyword phrase as anchor text.
If you look for High PR Web 2.0 Community websites you will find a ton of places you can post your links. You will usually be posting them in your profile in a section with a heading something like "About Me". It does take some time to set these profiles up, as you should upload a profile pic and add some personal info to avoid being banned for link spam.Pay particular attention to the sites that let you make blog posts. This is a great place to post articles and have no limit to the number of links per post. Again this will take some time investment, but the important thing is that these backlinks will last a long time, and so will your Google rankings
